ALICIA BARNES

Board Community Outreach

Alicia Barnes is a concierge coordinator working in insurance. She has a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and is in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Social Work. Alicia is a CADAC II Peer Recovery Specialist and has just under a decade of experience as a counselor in the substance abuse field, including treatment plans and peer support. She also has a background in corrections, providing addiction support to clients behind bars.

Having worked in addiction her entire career, Alicia has seen countless cases of sexual assault and human trafficking. She has seen survivors turned addicts one too many times, and is committed to supporting the cause. Alicia wants to do her part in advocating for survivors, showing them the proper avenues to process what they have experienced without turning to substances.

Alicia sees family at her center. She values the relationships that she has built in this world and would do anything to protect them. Alicia wants to build a platform of trust and hope for survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking, giving them the tools they need to heal.
